Research

In short, I am currently leading two projects*:

(1) Testing the validity of the space-for-time substitution (Blois et al. 2013 PNAS) using planktonic foraminifera time series from the last 250,000 years. This project is a collaboration with the authors of the recently published paper of Strack et al. (2022 Nat Eco Evo).

(2) Analysing temporal alpha- and beta-diversity patterns in the BioDeepTime database, which includes neo- and palaeontological assemblage time-series data spanning the last 150-million years. This project is a collaboration of many researchers (BioDeepTime group members). We expect the database to be published and open-access in 2023 (see GSA abstract). Besides the diversity patterns, we are also analysing the temporal scaling of turnover. This latter project is led by Adam Tomasovych (see GSA abstract).

*More details and schematic figures will be added to this page in the near future. In the meanwhile, please get in contact with me if you would like to hear more about these projects. Thank you for your patience!
