Research Experience
- Data skills: global ocean data analysis; museum data management and digitisation; microfossil sampling and imaging; morphometrics; mark-recapture method (multistate robust design; estimation of demographic rates)
- Statistical models: linear mixed-effects; generalized dissimilarity models; community phylogenetics; null models in ecology; time-series analyses
- Mechanistic models: adaptive dynamics; birth-death and density-dependent dynamics; continuous-time stochastic model; stochastic cellular automaton model (individual-based, spatially-explicit)
Field and Laboratory Experience
Micropalaeontology laboratory experience: seafloor sediment processing; microfossils sampling; Cenozoic planktonic foraminifera taxonomy; micropalaeontological slide mounting, digitisation and imaging (stereo-microscope); SEM imaging; morphometric image analysis
Marine expedition FORAMFLUX, RV Meteor M-140, from Cabo Verde to the Canary Islands via the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (four weeks at sea). Experience: plankton sampling with stratified plankton net; plankton filtering and biomass measurement; plankton identification using microscopy; sediment traps; sampling Saharan dust.
Field work in the Atlantic rainforest, Brazil: butterfly capture-mark-recapture method using entomological nets (nectarivorous species) and bait traps (frugivorous species)
